Helping Your Child Build Confidence With Peers

Our Social Skills Group is designed to help children develop meaningful peer relationships in a supportive, small group setting. Through guided play and real-world social activities, children practice communication, cooperation, emotional regulation, and flexibility in ways that feel natural and engaging.

This group is ABA-informed but intentionally play-based. Skills are taught through games, shared activities, and everyday social situations rather than drills or rigid instruction. Our goal is to help your child feel more confident, connected, and comfortable interacting with others.

What Is the Social Skills Group?

The Social Skills Group is a small, structured group program led by trained behavior therapists and supervised by a BCBA. Children learn and practice social skills alongside peers in a calm, encouraging environment where mistakes are part of learning.

Sessions focus on skills that support successful participation in group settings such as school, activities, and playdates. By practicing with peers, children gain real experience navigating conversations, sharing space, managing emotions, and solving social challenges.

How Social Skills Group Supports Your Child

Through group participation, your child can work on skills such as:

  • Building positive peer interactions
  • Strengthening conversation and play skills
  • Participating in group activities with flexibility
  • Managing frustration and big emotions
  • Understanding others’ perspectives
  • Problem-solving during social challenges

These skills are practiced in real time with gentle guidance and support, helping children feel more confident using them outside the group.

What Makes Our Social Skills Group Different

Our approach is thoughtful, child-centered, and relationship-focused. What sets our group apart:

  • ABA-informed strategies delivered through natural, play-based activities
  • Small group sizes that allow for individualized support
  • Real-time feedback shared with parents
  • Activities modeled after real-world peer interactions
  • A warm environment where children feel safe to try, learn, and grow

We meet children where they are and build skills at a pace that feels supportive rather than overwhelming.

Program Structure

  • We meet once per week
  • Runs in 8- to 12-week cycles
  • Groups include 6 to 8 children
  • Guided by two trained staff members

Groups are carefully formed based on age, developmental level, and social goals to support positive peer experiences.

Is Our Social Skills Group Right for Your Child?

This group may be a good fit for your child if they:

  • Want to build friendships or feel more confident with peers
  • Struggle with conversation, sharing, or group play
  • Find it hard to manage emotions in social situations
  • Benefit from practicing skills in a structured but playful setting

Your BCBA can help determine whether the Social Skills Group is the right addition to your child’s overall treatment plan.
